Document my Day
A few pictures from a wedding that we covered this past Saturday.

Mark and Esther’s ceremony was held at St. Pius X Church on Smithville Crescent in St. John’s. I’d not shot in this church before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The light is good front / centre, but the rest of the church required studio lights. The altar is nicely lit from above and is accessible from behind, which allowed me to get some truly candid stuff.

Again, the couple was really nice. The guys in particular were very inquisitive when it came to our gear – when they were not in a shot, they were sizing up and asking questions about the cameras or lights or whatever. Even though we had to do a good few posed shots, we were still able to fade away and document the day. It was just six hours coverage from start to finish, but I think Jennifer and I were still able to capture the mood of the event. I’ll post more shots from that one later.
Speaking of mood, we’ve got an interesting one coming up – we’ll be covering a wedding that will be taking place in a tiny little church in an outport community. We meet with the couple again a few weeks ago – apparently the place is ancient – it doesn’t even have electricity.
