I attended a wedding over the weekend… I brought along my camera of course.

We’ve got the web minion working on a new gallery for the wedding site as I type, so I’ll post here when that’s ready.

A few shots from my travels today…

I thought I’d post occasionally here with a site or two that I’ve visited recently.

Here’s a site by Kelly Moore, a photographer based in L.A. She completed a workshop that she’s just been blogging about.

Warning: turn down your volume if you’re visiting her main site. I don’t know about anyone else, but for me, blaring music = CTRL + Q (aka ALT + F4).

It’s been a tight squeeze through the streets of St. John’s for the last few days.

I’ve noticed that the most aggressive drivers tend to be those in large pickup trucks with chassis mounted plows.

If you’re driving around when road space is at a premium with a large piece of metal attached to your vehicle, shouldn’t you be giving the right-of-way to pretty much everyone else?

Taken yesterday evening… twas a beautiful and peaceful night. It won’t last.

We took a run down to Petty Harbour over the weekend. Uneventful. Freezing. I nearly fell in.

We’re trying to arrange a few more TFP shoots for later this month too.??The weather is pretty much driving us inside for all this stuff, so I’m using that to my advantage and trying to develope some different ideas.??I can’t wait to get outside again tho…

I’ve also done a few freebie shoots over the last few months - work that should be seen in magazines and such in the coming weeks (the Aimee Power cover on the Herald, etc.).??I’ll post anything here when it becomes available, but the lag time between the shoot / story / printing / release date is brutal on this stuff.??I guess I’m spoiled by usually having the results in my hand within a few days - I’ve got to develop my patience too.??

Also, some of the Modeling Galleries have been updated. I think just Three (Jenna) and Five (Valerie) so far, with more in the works.

It’s funny how some people are just good at modeling, and others have to really work at it. I’ve been lucky in my last couple of shoots to work with people that are very natural and comfortable in front of a camera.

In the best cases, the model generally doesn’t have to be instructed or posed, but when the photographer has a very specific idea or shot in mind that has to be achieved, they also effortlessly get it.

Our shoot today was no exception - Janelle is one of those who always does a great job. I’ve just started going through the shoot… here’s a few sneak peeks.

There’s been a new gallery added to the Kim Goodyear site. It’s comprised of two shoots we’ve done with Aimee Power, Miss Newfoundland and Labrador. I’ve also instructed the web minion to overhaul the rest of the modeling galleries, so some changes will be online in a few days - or else! :)

There’s also another fun sort of modeling shoot arranged for this weekend - we’ll be shooting Janelle again on Sunday. We’ve worked with her a few times before - she always does a great job, so we’ll have some stuff online from that one mid-next week.
