While shooting a wedding a few weeks ago, we were approached by another recently wed couple who had apparently been rained out at their own wedding a few weeks before.  They’d not managed to get any outdoor shots on the big day, so the bride asked if we could do a few for them. We got together a couple weeks later on a Sunday evening to shoot Sarah and Jon.  

We tell couples all the time that the best way to look relaxed and happy in your pictures is to actually be relaxed and happy – you’re not professional models after all. That’s why a pre or post-wedding shoot for the couple is such a great idea – there’s no stress whatsoever, and they don’t have to “block out” what’s going on around them to look relaxed, as is often the case on a hectic wedding day. And perhaps just as important, there are no expectations from well meaning family members for what is (or is not) “appropriate”.
