Breaking Ice

Published by Kim under Newfoundland

These are just a couple of files that I had laying around from the last several shoots. This happens a lot – I have a few mediocre photos that don’t really “fit” for some reason… they build up… then a common thread develops.

Horsin’ Around

Published by Kim under Newfoundland

The sun… finally.

I had no choice but to take advantage of this rare sighting and found myself on the way to Torbay this afternoon.

I came across these horses just when they were being lead from the stables – I think they were just as happy to see the sun as I was. Some fell to the ground rolling in the snow, others just ran across the field. All seemed excited and a flurry of activity followed as one after another was guided through the gate.

Southside Road

Published by Kim under Newfoundland

According to the extended forecast, there will be snow on three of the next five days, so I’m glad that I finally got out shooting. I headed down to the Southside Hills – it was beautiful and sunny, but a bit windy and more than a little cold.

These guys were headed out to sea, and I fully realize that I’m a complete wimp when it comes to the cold, because when they told me this, I thought they were nuts. The rope they’d used to tie the boat on was frozen – they were whacking the hell out of it with a sledge hammer.

Time for a visit to Tim’s if you ask me.
